GIFT ANNUITY

This allows you to make an irrevocable charitable gift to CUMC and, based on your age, receive a guaranteed income until your death. A Charitable Gift Annuity may be established for one or two lives and may provide significant tax benefits.

IRA/PENSION

You may designate Central United Methodist Church (CUMC) as beneficiary of all or a portion of these retirement assets. If you name CUMC as a beneficiary of either an IRA or your pension plan, you may be eligible for tax benefits. If you are interested in naming CUMC as a beneficiary, please contact your IRA or pension representative/administrator to obtain a change of beneficiary form.

WILL/TRUST

You may designate a specific dollar amount or a percentage of your estate to Central United Methodist Church in your will or trust, or through an amendment to your will or trust.

PAY ON DEATH

You may name CUMC to receive the assets in a brokerage account, bank account, or savings account.  If you are interested in naming CUMC as a “pay on death” beneficiary, talk to your broker, banker or savings and loan representative.

LIFE INSURANCE

You may name CUMC as beneficiary of a life insurance policy. Also, you may purchase a life insurance policy to be owned by the Church; you would pay the premiums. There may be some limited tax benefits.

LIFE ESTATE

For example, you may give your home to Central United Methodist Church (CUMC) before your death and retain use of the property until your death. Such a gift may give you immediate tax benefits. Acceptance of such a gift must be approved by the CUMC Trustees.

OTHER

Real and personal property of significant value may be left to CUMC; however, acceptance of such gifts must be approved by the CUMC Trustees. Such gifts may provide tax benefits to your estate.

If you have any questions, please contact the Church office (243-7834) or the New Mexico Conference Methodist Foundation (255-8786). CUMC does not provide legal or financial advice.
